WEEKEND SERVE OPPORTUNITIES

Did you know that anyone who visits a church decides whether or not they are coming back for a second visit within 7 minutes of their first visit, from the time they pull into the parking lot. Our First Impressions Teams set the course for visitor and member worship experiences at The Cross Church.

GREETER** – Welcome and assist attenders in finding their way and a place to belong.

USHER – Welcome and assist attenders entering and exiting the Worship Center and collect the offering.

PARKING – Greet and assist with traffic, monitor crosswalks for pedestrian safety and valet parking.

COMMONS CAFÉ** – Prepare and serve coffee and food items before, during, and after worship services and events.

CONNECTION CENTER** – Help encourage and connect attenders to Jesus, welcoming new members and counseling decisions before, during and after worship services.

PRAYER ROOM – Host the prayer room and provide prayer support to attenders before and during the service.

MEDICAL** – Respond to medical needs that may arise and execute safety response plans in the event of an emergency.

SAFETY** – Provide a safety presence throughout the church campus and execute safety response plans in the event of an emergency.

The Worship and Production Teams are what prepare us for an attitude of worship. From setting up microphones to playing an instrument, all of these roles are essential to creating an environment of praise and worship on our campus and to all those who join us online across the globe.

CAMERA OPERATOR* – Operate video cameras during weekend worship experiences to capture video shots as directed.

LIGHTING TECH* – Operate the computer-based lighting system during the weekend worship experiences and learn to program and troubleshoot the lighting system and fixtures.

PROPRESENTER OPERATOR – Operate and monitor the computer program that displays lyrics and videos on screen during the weekend worship experience.

MUSICIAN – Skilled musicians & vocalists with previous band experience lead our congregation in worship through music.

iCAMPUS – Host online worship services. Monitor the chat feeds and engage with people online. No technical knowledge required.

STAGE CREW – Provide assistance backstage during worship services and help install stage elements that impact worship services.

*NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, WE WILL TRAIN YOU.

Through the joys and challenges that come with school, friends, and family, The Cross Church is committed to helping the next generation take steps toward Christ. We are also committed to partnering with parents as they guide their children through seasons of life.

SMALL GROUP LEADER** – Lead a small group and help the next generation (birth through 12th grade) learn about Jesus and how to have a relationship with Him.

ELEMENTARY LARGE GROUP** – Lead kids who are in grades 1–4 with games, skits, and Bible stories in a high energy worship experience designed especially for them.

PRAISE TEAM** – Help lead the next generation in praise and worship.

TECH AND MEDIA** – Impact the next generation though the use of media and technology for next generation worship experiences.

GUEST SERVICES** – Assist regular attenders and new families with check-in, collect contact information, and ensure the accurate collection of attendance data.

HOST** – Welcome and assist new families finding their way through the Kid’s area.

HOSPITALITY**Help serve and support next generation volunteers, providing  refreshments and restocking supplies as needed and/or organize/host student ministry food service for 7th–12th graders on Wednesday nights, weekend services and ministry events.

The Grow Ministry area encompasses a diverse range of offerings designed to nurture spiritual development and foster community among various groups.

GROWTH GROUP LEADER** – Lead a small group to help adults mature spiritually to become more like Jesus through Biblical teaching. Opportunities include all ages and stages of life, married, men’s and women’s ministry.

YOUNG ADULTS** – Support Bible study and ministry to college students and young adults though small groups, ministry events and outreach.

SPECIAL NEEDS** – Provide support to individuals with special needs so they may participate in worshiping Jesus in an environment that is best for them.

BETWEEN THE WEEKENDS

The Cross Church offers numerous adult serve opportunities between the weekends, both on-campus and within home and specific ministry groups. 

HOME GROUPS – Host and facilitate a Growth Group in a host home.

SMALL GROUP LEADER – Lead a short-term/seasonal weekday small group for adults based on life stage, gender, or interests.

MEN – Men’s ministry includes weekly discipleship groups and community outreach teams.

WOMEN – Women’s ministry includes care, creative, and prayer teams. Join us in serving women of The Cross Church.

SENIOR ADULTS – Assist with senior adult ministry activities including nursing homes and Happy Circle.

RESTORE MINISTRY – Offer support to help and encourage those in different forms of recovery

SAFETY** – Provide a safety presence throughout the church campus and execute safety response plans in the event of an emergency.

HOSPITALITY** – Help serve and support food service for Student services and events.

HOPE FOR THE CITIES** – Help the hungry and homeless in Collin County through preparing and delivering meals to those in our immediate and surrounding communities.

OUTREACH** – Invest in the community through afterschool programs, Bible clubs, block parties, and other special events.

MINISTRY PARTNER ADVOCATE – Be a liaison between a ministry partner and The Cross Church, sharing prayer needs and facilitating opportunities to serve.

IMPACT TEAM – The Impact Team is a ministry of men dedicated to serving our community through acts of service and compassion. By utilizing diverse skills and talents, these men strive to make a positive difference in the lives of those around them.
